It's turkey time already! We can't believe how fast October has come upon us, but we sure have been busy in our room getting ready for the special holiday.
This week, with the help of some awesome parent volunteers, we made some cool crafts for Thanksgiving. Unfortunately, the cards and crafts that were made today (Thursday) were sadly left behind on the dry rack as we completely forgot about them. How could we have forgotten them you ask? Well, let us tell you why...
This afternoon, as we came in from recess, we were super excited to check out a toad that one of the older students had caught out on the yard and let us keep for the rest of the day in a container in our classroom. Wow! Did one little toad ever cause some stir. After we read a story with Mrs. C about being a good friend we packed up and headed outside to the Girls Love Reading Club's rock circle to examine the toad more closely. We came up with some very cool observations and then let him go so he could be in his natural habitat...much 'funner' than the classroom we all thought. We then thought it would be so much fun to turn OURSELVES into frogs and sang the 'Five Green Speckled Frogs' song. We also took turns jumping down from the stones to the ground to help strengthen our muscles.
With all of that excitement, the day ended in a whirl wind as we rushed back inside just before the final bell sounded. Hopefully you will still be able to enjoy our final craft and 'hand made' card on Tuesday evening.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone, see you Tuesday!
