The 100th Day of School, Valentine's Day and Pancake Tuesday!

This year, the 100th Day of School, Valentine's Day, Pancake Tuesday and our gymnastics trip were all just a few short days away from one another! Add in Family Day to the mix and you've got a crazy busy bunch of days going on!

Can you believe that we have already been at school for 100 days? We had such a great day sharing all of the different groups of 100 things that we brought in to share. Some of us brought in 100 small healthy treats while others brought in some really neat collections such as straws, marbles, thumbtacks and fake flower petals! It was so neat seeing how 100 can look so small when you are counting something like chocolate chips, but also so big when you are counting 100 pencils and need 10 friends to help you hold all of them!

In addition to the 100th Day of School, it was also the day before Valentine's Day! We decided to plan an exciting celebration where we chose to watch a NumberJacks video, dance and make a 100's/Valentine's Day trail mix! So yummy! It was also so much fun handing out our Valentine's to one another and making some pretty pictures to take home to those we love.

This week, we had Pancake Tuesday and everyone in our entire school at pancakes at first break! EH said, "I ate all of mine!" while CM added, "it was really good!" Echoing those thoughts, AP and OR told us, "they were SO yummy" and MT exclaimed, "they were DELICIOUS!!!". Clearly, Mrs. J had a great idea when she wanted to do this. Thanks to all of the parent volunteers who also helped make this possible giving up their time to make pancakes and clean up afterward.

Finally, we headed to the Lindsay Gymnastics Centre to use their

facility. It  was so much fun working with Sandy and all of her friends. We got to jump on the trampoline, use the low rings, walk the balance beam, try out two crazy obstacle courses and jump into the foam block pit! It was such a great time exercising and building our large muscle groups together. Thanks also to our bus driver for taking us there and back safely.

Phew! We think that with so many busy days in a row that we will definitely need a nice relaxing weekend for sure!
