Trying to Outrun Mrs. Ridgway

Again this morning we headed out to the Trans Canada Trail because, the same as yesterday, The Weather Channel said it was going to rain this afternoon...which it did!

After our school fire drill, we set off for the Trail and traveled South towards Fieldside Road to check out the 'derby block' barriers. Unfortunately, once we made it all the way there, one of the dead trees had fallen onto the barriers, making it unsafe for us to explore. So we decided to turn around and head back toward the bridge back to the school.

However, before crossing, Mrs. Ridgway challenged the class to a race to see who could beat her to the white marker (about 150 metres away). Giving the class a head start, because, 'she's taller than us so her legs must be too!', Mrs. Ridgeway quickly caught up to some of the speediest runners in the class. Man, did they give her a run for her money!

In a there-way tie, Mrs. Ridgway challenged everyone to three more rematches to see who was faster...OR, CM or Mrs. Ridgway. Each time it was always, 'way to close to tell!' as determined by Mrs. Corner, Mrs. West and anyone who tired of running. To those competing, we decided to call it a tie so then everyone had not only a great time getting in a little morning exercise, but were also winners!
